Frankfurt, 1957
Hans Zimmer
He blends orchestra and electronics. He won Oscars for The Lion King and Dune, and scored Gladiator, Inception and Interstellar.
He moved to London as a teenager and began playing keyboards and synthesisers in bands. There he teamed up with composer Stanley Myers, with whom he set up a recording studio. Rain Man earned him an Oscar nomination and opened the door to Hollywood. He founded Remote Control Productions, the workshop many of today's composers have passed through.
